Altera Digital Health Selects MedAllies as a Qualified Health Information Network® (QHIN™) Partner

FISHKILL, N.Y. and NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Altera Digital Health, a global health IT leader, today announced its selection of MedAllies as its Qualified Health Information Network (QHIN) partner for Paragon Denali, a cloud-native electronic health record (EHR) system for rural, critical access and community hospitals; TouchWorks EHR, an EHR designed for independent provider practices; and dbMotion, an EHR-agnostic interoperability and data platform. Partnering with MedAllies reinforces Altera’s commitment to advancing nationwide interoperability under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
The partnership supports critical interoperability goals by providing Altera’s clients access to comprehensive patient data from diverse healthcare settings nationwide. This enhanced connectivity empowers healthcare organizations with patient histories, medication records and clinical insights at the point of care, enabling more informed clinical decisions and improved health outcomes. Additionally, the partnership supports easier connectivity for those providers to public health agencies and other government entities requiring submission of both clinical and administrative data.
“Enabling clinicians to focus more on patient care is a pillar of Altera’s vision for the future of healthcare. Facilitating unhindered access to patient data is essential to achieving that aim,” said Marcus Perez, President, Altera Digital Health. “This partnership with MedAllies will offer our clients significantly smoother access to patient data—not just within their immediate geographies, but from across the entire country—and this will enhance care experiences for patients and providers alike. It’s a real game-changer.”
MedAllies, designated as a QHIN within the TEFCA framework in late 2023, serves as a crucial bridge in the nation’s health information exchange infrastructure. QHINs facilitate secure, standardized data exchange between disparate health networks, creating a unified framework for healthcare interoperability that transcends traditional organizational and technological boundaries. Altera’s partnership with MedAllies positions the company directly in the midst of the industry’s evolution toward true nationwide interoperability as it executes on its commitment to adopt innovative solutions that enhance care coordination and support the delivery of higher quality patient outcomes.
“QHINs are poised to play an essential role in ushering in a new era of improved interoperability across the healthcare system, resulting in enhanced collaboration for providers and higher-quality care for patients,” said John Blair, MD, CEO, MedAllies. “We are proud to work with Altera to enable providers to more efficiently and effectively share critical patient information to improve the nation’s health and reduce provider burden.”
