Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Specialist - Billing/Claims

MedAllies, a dynamic and growing health information technology organization, is looking for an EDI Specialist who would like to contribute to the growth and development of a young organization. We are continuing to expand our Implementation Division and this is a great opportunity to grow with the team and company. The EDI Specialist is responsible for managing the EDI transaction process for both implemented and pre-implemented clients. For implemented clients, the EDI Specialist assists practice with troubleshooting EDI issues, schedules updates to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications with appropriate changes relating to EDI, and trains clients on EDI issues as needed. For pre-implemented clients, the EDI Specialist coordinates EDI testing (837/835 ANSI transaction code sets), assists clients with appropriate set-ups for file maintenance data, assist the Project Manager with issues related to the Clearinghouse enrollments, completes post-live EDI audits. In addition, the EDI Specialists is responsible for ensuring clients meet milestones related to EDI according to the defined project plan. The major role of the EDI Specialist is to ensure optimal billing set-ups and appropriate configurations to maximize the client’s use of the EHR application. As part of this process, the EDI Specialist uses Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) “best practice” methodology with regard to the billing, claims, and collection processes for each client

In addition, MedAllies is the Health Information Service Provider (HISP) for Taconic Health Information Network and Community (THINC), a nationally recognized community collaborative. MedAllies works with THINC on high-profile research studying improvements in patient safety and quality as a result of utilizing health information technology.

Candidates must possess extensive knowledge in the billing process of a medical practice including a thorough understanding of MGMA “best practices” for billing, claims, and general EDI processes. The ideal candidate must also possess excellent customer service, communications and inter-personal skills. The EDI Specialist positions require highly motivated individuals with excellent problem solving skills who are professional, friendly, patient, able to work independently on several tasks at the same time and able to adapt quickly to various medical office billing configurations. The candidates must also be able to contribute to the overall success of the Implementation Team by directing practices on maintaining high levels of billing efficiency and effectiveness which maximizes the functionality of the EHR systems being utilized by the practice. Candidates should be detailed oriented with a strong work ethic and have the ability to work with all levels of physician practice staff. Previous certified EHR billing experience required.

Implementation Specialists
Implementation Team

MedAllies, a dynamic and growing health information technology organization, is looking for Implementation Specialists who would like to contribute to the growth and development of a young organization. We are continuing to expand our Implementation Division and this is a great opportunity to grow with the team and company. Implementation Specialists are certified professionals in Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications and are responsible for redesigning clinical workflows to prepare for implementation. In addition, Implementation Specialists are responsible for education and training of physicians and medical office personnel in the EHR application following a defined project plan. The major role of the Implementation Specialist is to apply the most effective training techniques specific to the needs of the individual user so the user incorporates the applications into their daily work routine. As part of this process, the Implementation Specialist assesses the readiness of a practice, develops a practice assessment, and redesigns the workflow to optimize the EHR application. Included as part of this position, is the ability to understand the individual’s work routine and responsibilities in order to provide him/her with efficiencies gained through use of the EHR ultimately improving the quality of patient care.

Candidates must possess excellent leadership ability, customer service, communications and inter-personal skills in order to transition practices from paper-based medical records to paperless Electronic Health Record (EHR) practices. The Implementation Specialist positions require highly motivated individuals with excellent problem solving skills who are professional, friendly, patient, able to work independently on several tasks at the same time and able to adapt quickly to various medical office environments. In addition, candidates must have knowledge of MS Office, computer networking, and insurance based physician billing. The ideal candidates must also be able to contribute to the overall success of the Implementation Team by maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and demonstrate the ability to efficiently and effectively implement EHR systems. Candidates should be detailed oriented with a strong work ethic and have the ability to work with all levels of physician practice staff. Previous demonstrated successful EHR implementation experience required.

Join our Sales Division!   Various Positions Available

MedAllies, a dynamic and growing health information technology organization, is looking for individuals to join our Sales Division who would like to contribute to the growth and development of a young organization. We are continuing to expand our Sales Division and this is a great opportunity to develop our team and company. The Sales Division is responsible for reselling Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to providers within the Hudson Valley region of NY State.

Individuals are expected to exceed all sales objectives and division goals, and for maintaining various programs to achieve desired results.  Goals include generating new EHR sales; retaining customers; increasing sales market penetration; developing regional sales staff and ensuring sales operational effectiveness to realize regional sales goals.  The position coordinates with team members in the Implementation Division and external vendor representatives.

The ideal candidate must possess previous ambulatory healthcare systems sales in addition to extensive experience with certified EHR systems. The positions require highly motivated individuals with excellent organizational and problem solving skills who are professional, friendly, patient, able to work concurrently with open accounts, while at the same time keeping focused and productive. The ideal candidate must also be able to contribute to the overall success of the company by working with the executive leadership to continually improve the market penetration of EHRs in the Hudson Valley region. In addition, the candidate must have an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to the development of short- and long-term strategic goals.

Previous demonstrated sales proficiency is required with a Bachelor’s degree in related field (sales, marketing, finance, etc.).  A Master’s degree (MBA or MHSA) desirable.
