NextGen EMR Template Developer
Implementation Team

MedAllies, a dynamic and growing health information technology organization, is looking for a NextGen EMR Template Developer who would like to contribute to the growth and development of a young organization. We are continuing to expand our Implementation Division and this is a great opportunity to grow with the team and company. The Template Developer is responsible for scoping out template development requests as received by our NextGen clients. Once a template requests has been approved for development, the Template Developer is responsible for completing requested work per the work order including development, modifications, and quality assurance testing of the new/revised template. Routine responsibilities include documentation of requested template changes and quality assurance testing of upgrades and patches and the impact of such on existing templates. In addition, the Template Developer designs/creates clinical reports and custom utilities as needed for clients. As part of this process, the Template Developer works closely with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Implementation Specialists to develop/revise templates for clients implementing systems and also works closely with the Practice Consultant and the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) to develop/revise templates for clients post-live EHR. 

MedAllies offers healthcare information technology applications including web portals, electronic prescribing and electronic health records. In addition, MedAllies is the Health Information Service Provider (HISP) for Taconic Health Information Network and Community (THINC), a nationally recognized community collaborative. MedAllies works with THINC on high-profile research studying improvements in patient safety and quality as a result of utilizing health information technology.

The Template Developer position requires: demonstrated knowledge of Crystal Reports, Visual Basic, SQL, and SQL Service; knowledge and experience with Microsoft Applications; attention to detail; and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent education). Candidates with healthcare industry experiences and/or a medical background are preferred. The ideal candidate must also be able to contribute to the overall success of the Implementation Team by understanding and recommending optimal templates designs that improve efficiency and effectiveness in workflow to ultimately improve patient care. The Template Developer must maintain high levels of client satisfaction and demonstrate the ability to efficiently and effectively design templates for both the Implementation and Call Center Teams. Candidates should be detailed oriented with a strong work ethic and have the ability to work with all levels of physician practice staff.
