MedAllies, a dynamic and growing health information technology organization, is looking for a Senior Project Director who would like to contribute to the growth and development of a young organization. We are continuing to expand our Implementation Division and this is a great opportunity to develop our team and company. The Senior Project Director is a senior leadership position responsible for directing the implementation team and responsible for achieving high quality, effective implementations including ensuring medical practices are redesigned to effectively and efficiently manage patient care to qualify for applicable pay-for-quality initiatives.

The Senior Project Director is responsible for establishing and managing relationships with client managers, assigning and planning implementations with the Project Managers, and developing/revising healthcare redesign models. The position coordinates with all team members including information technology specialists, implementation/training specialists, and the executive team from the client’s site. The Senior Project Director also coordinates with external teams including interface development and vendor-specific as required by the specific project.

The major role of the Senior Project Director is to assist the client in planning and developing a comprehensive workflow redesign that maximizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) application. As part of this process, the Senior Project Director assesses the practice, develops a comprehensive workflow redesign plan, and works with the assigned Project Manger to assign appropriate resources to each client’s implementation team. The Senior Project Director also consults with the Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) to develop workflow redesign specific to physicians.

MedAllies offers healthcare information technology applications including web portals, electronic prescribing and electronic health records. In addition, MedAllies is the Health Information Service Provider (HISP) for Taconic Health Information Network and Community (THINC), a nationally recognized community collaborative. MedAllies works with THINC on high-profile research studying improvements in patient safety and quality as a result of utilizing health information technology.

The ideal candidate must possess previous ambulatory healthcare systems implementations in addition to extensive practice administration experience. The practice management experience must include multi-specialty groups, revenue cycle management, strategic planning, marketing, program development, and quality improvement responsibilities. The ambulatory healthcare systems experience must include experience with certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The Senior Project Director position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational and problem solving skills who is professional, friendly, patient, able to work independently on several critical projects at the same time and able to keep various teams focused and productive. The ideal candidate must also be able to contribute to the overall success of the company by working with the executive leadership to continually improve the implementation and workflow redesign process following the strategic goals of the organization. In addition, the candidate must have an entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to development of short- and long-term strategic goals.

Previous demonstrated project management experience at an executive level is required with a Master’s degree in MBA or MHSA desirable.
